ACCOUNTING INFORMATION SYSTEM-SAP 


COURSE DESCRIPTION/SCOPE: Accounting Information Systems (AIS) introduces students to the systems that underlie bookkeeping, accounting, financial reporting, tax reporting, and auditing in all business firms.  Such systems are increasingly complex and in a continual state of flux do to rapidly changing technologies and security risks.  In this course, the students learn about the development standards and practices for accounting information systems and gain hands-on experience in, the use of electronic spreadsheet software for advanced business analysis, and to gain hands-on experience with a commercial accounting software package. This also covers the implementation of an integrated Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system in an organization using SAP Business One. The course will equip the students with the understanding of the logistics and accounting standards processes in SAP Business One as well as the set-up and configuration processes required by the client companies.


  COURSE OBJECTIVES: At the end of the course, the students are expected to:

1.       Explain how general ERP concepts are addressed by SAP Business One.

2.       Enumerate and describe the components of Logistics and Accounting in SAP Business One and explain how the various functions relate to ERP requirements.

3.       Implement SAP Business One in a specific company.

4.       Demonstrate business skills and competence to analyze the business processes of a particular company and how SAP Business One relates to its specific requirements.

5.       Demonstrate proficiency in the use of computer and information technology.
